300 Series (Austenitic) Stainless Steel

The principal alloys used today are the Austenitic stainless steels, or 300 series alloys. These alloys contain Chromium and nickel and exhibit excellent physical properties. KPW stocks and manufactures these wires in 302, 304, 316 and 321 grades.

400 Series (Ferritic & Martensitic) Stainless Steel

Stainless steel is less commonly required in Ferritic and Martensitic conditions. These alloys have less nickel and their physical properties diminished compared to the 300 series.

17/7 Precipitation Hardening Stainless Steel

A particular form of stainless steel is Precipitation Hardening steel, or 17/7 PH. This steel derivative can be heat treated to achieve exceptionally high strength.
