Copper and Copper Alloys have excellent electrical and thermal conductivities, are easy to fabricate and include some alloys of exceptional strength and corrosion resistance. They can be formed into complex shapes by drawing and cold heading.

Copper is available in varying purity, the best being oxygen free copper in which the extra purity enhances ductility and avoids hydrogen embrittlement during brazing.

Copper Alloys of Zinc, Tin, Nickel & Beryllium


Copper has the highest conductivity of any non-precious metal. The combination of its high ductility, good machinability, high strength, ease of jointing and good corrosion resistance make copper a prime choice as a conductor and for electrical applications.

  • High Conductivity Copper (Cu-ETP)

    Electrolytic Tough Pitch high conductivity copper is the standard grade of copper for electrical conductivity applications, with 100% IACS. A higher grade Cu-ETP1 is made from Grade A copper cathode.

  • Oxygen Free Copper (Cu-OF)

    For special welding and brazing applications, an oxygen free copper is available with 102% IACS. This copper avoids embrittlement in a heated reducing environment as hydrogen reacts with the oxide in the metal to form steam and material cracking.
