Service Properties and Applications of Aluminium Alloys Header

Alloy Type Service Properties Applications
Heat Treatable Aluminium alloys The mechanical properties of heat-treatable aluminium alloys are developed using a combination of solution heat treatment, cold working and artificial aging. Applications include structural aerospace components.
Non-Heat Treatable Aluminium Alloys These alloys use manganese, magnesium or both to provide moderate to high strength materials. Further strengthening is possible by various degrees of cold work. Applications include cookware.
High Purity Aluminium High purity aluminium in the soft condition has low strength but excellent formability. Cold working is used to improve strength, but at the expense of ductility. These materials have good corrosion resistance, thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity.
