Materials
The main material used in stainless steel locking wire is softened stainless steel in grade 321, although 302/304 and 316 are also supplied. Knight Precision Wire also supplies locking wire in Monel 400, Inconel 600 and Copper.
Sizes
Available in the full range of standard aerospace locking wire sizes: SWG 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 26 (0.91mm, 0.81mm, 0.71mm, 0.61mm, 0.56mm, 0.45mm and Imperial equivalents). Many non-standard stainless steel locking wire sizes are also available.
Packaging
Aircraft locking wire is packaged on standard 0.5kg or 1.0kg spools for convenience. Special spool sizes are available on request. Stainless steel locking wire is also supplied in coil or straight cut lengths (to meet specific customer requirements).
